LuvBuds is a leading wholesale distributor of accessories, supplies, and custom products to cannabis retailers and dispensaries in the United States. The company has been serving cannabis dispensaries and smoke shops since 2015.

Cannabiz Media spoke with Brett Harris, CEO and Founder of LuvBuds, to learn more about how he and his team use the Cannabiz Media License Database for research, sales, strategic planning, and more.

Why Does LuvBuds Subscribe to the Cannabiz Media License Database?

LuvBuds uses the Cannabiz Media License Database to identify opportunities and connect with sales prospects, but Brett shares that he wasn’t an early adopter of the leading cannabis and hemp license and business intelligence tool.

Brett explains, “I ran into Cannabiz Media at trade shows for several years, and I didn’t really get it. Then, I finally spent some time in the Cannabiz Media booth at a trade show, and I said, “Wait a second! You guys can tell us when new licenses get approved?’ That was the thing that really caught my attention.”

At LuvBuds, Brett and his sales team are very focused on growing the business and brand. “Our brand name is very valuable,” says Brett. “My goal was to get our brand name in front of as many people as soon as possible. We use the Cannabiz Media License Database so we know when licenses are changing or pending or approved, and when people are applying.”

With this information, Brett and the LuvBuds team can identify and prioritize leads to reach their goals. “The industry is growing at a really rapid pace, and we use the Cannabiz Media License Database to identify where new licenses are being issued,” Brett shares. “We’re very interested in pending and newly activated licenses and making sure our sales reps are aware of their territory growth, contacting those people, and letting them take advantage of the valuable services we offer.”

What’s Next for LuvBuds?

LuvBuds is focused on the future and already has plans in place to reach its goals. “We’re now branching out to other revenue streams, and they’re very important to our success,” says Brett. “The reach for the product category is high, and it’s up to us to stay very, very focused on what our main business is.”

Recently, LuvBuds launched a new custom business, Swag Supply. Brett shares, “We’re going to do 3D renderings of custom products. No one else has spent the time or cared enough about the cannabis space to do this properly. It’s going to be extraordinarily well-priced. We’ll get our full catalog up, and we’ll be launching house brands that will enable us to bring price points down.”

Brett and the LuvBuds team are also preparing for future UPC coding requirements as well as working on strategic projects with multi-state operators (MSOs). “We’re working with a lot of MSOs on creating merchandising plans and schedules and trying to get this industry up to par with other retailers and how they present products and identify the right product mix,” says Brett. “We’re really eager to get everything out in front of our customer base.”
