We last looked at cannabis cultivation licenses through midyear and today’s post is an update on new licenses issued as well as total licenses. At midyear California and Oklahoma have been responsible for over 90% of the new cultivation licenses. This has dipped slightly to 89% even though California and Oklahoma issued 964 new cultivation licenses since midyear but in a lopsided fashion.
- Active cannabis cultivation licenses in the database now number 17,015
- 4,081 new cultivation licenses have been added this year
- Michigan is still a distant third with 227 licenses added this year toward a total of 414
- 89% of the new licenses were in California and Oklahoma
For this and upcoming leaderboards we will also include the total number of licenses that we track. The table above illuminates the number of new licenses created but it does not show the affect of licenses that are cancelled, revoked, or administratively withdrawn. The following lengthy table shows all that we have tracked.
